TOP EPL CLUBS TRANSFER ROUND

The EPL season is less than two months from its conclusion and this is the period that leads to transfer speculations across England. In what has been one of the tightest title race and top four race in a decade, it is no surprise that the top clubs have been linked to a couple of players.

We begin with the transfer news that Tottenham are looking to hijack the signing Andre Gomes from Everton. Andre Gomes is currently trying on loan from Spanish side Barcelona and he has impressed in his time at Everton. According to the Daily, Telegraph Tottenham are positioning themselves to swoop for the midfielder at the end of the season.

Sweden and Norway in Qualifier Euro 2020

Sweden and Norway were engaged in a qualifier match for Euro 2020. The match was closely contested as both teams played equally well. Ola Kamara, substitute player for Norway scored a goal in the 96th minute. This resulted in a draw between the two sides at 3-3. The game was held on Tuesday, 27th March 2019.

On behalf of Sweden, Robin Quaison scored two goals which gave the team a lead of 3-2 before stoppage time. However, Kamara made the last goal to gain a point for his side which made the goal a pulsating one. If the overall performance and points accrued are seen, Sweden is now in second place. This is on the basis of four points gained from the two games they played. They are two points behind Spain who is leading, having won against Malta with a score of 2-0. Norway remains fifth since they have one point in total.

LARSSON WANTS LUSTIG BACK IN SWEEDEN

Sweden International and AIK midfielder Sebastian Larsson has welcomed the idea of a return for Mikael Lustig back to his home country. The Celtic right-back will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Currently, there’s no news of a deal being in place for the defender, despite there being just four months remaining on his deal. Celtic upgraded on the right-back positionwith the loan signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Jeremy Toljan in the January transfer window. It’s expected that Toljan will push Lustig down the pecking order giving the importance of his signing.

Swedish Striker Gains Title For LA Galaxy

Swedish football team has won a major accolade this year due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the forward’s performance who has been named as Major League Soccer Newcomer for this year. He has defeated competitors like Wayne Rooney of England’s team to gain this award.

Los Angeles Galaxy showcased the Swedish striker with the header score that he did this year in July in the game against Orlando City. This was probably the score that has gained him this title. The announcement was made on Monday, November 12th. There was a balloting among players and MLS coaches where Ibrahimovic won this title along with a media panel support that was about 36.36 percent in his favor as compared to 32.25 percent that was voted in support of Rooney. Third in line was Carlos Vela of Mexico who belongs to Los Angeles FC who gained a mere vote percentage of 13.47.

ETUHU FACES BRIBERY CHARGE IN SWEDEN

Former Premier League star Dickson Etuhu is facing bribery charge against him in Sweden, as per reports. The former Manchester City and Fulham player featured for clubs in Sweden before retiring to become an agent. As part of investigations into match fixing in Sweden, it was discovered that Etuhu might have paid former AIK Stockholm teammate Kenny Stamatopoulos for match fixing against Gothenburg last year.

The revelations were made following an 18-month investigation into match fixing in Sweden. The game was cancelled when the allegations came up. However Etuhu’s lawyer Johan Akermark has insisted that his client offered no bribe. Continue reading

Sweden beaten by Turkey

Sweden was stunned by two quick goals from Emre Akbaba in the closing stage of the game against Turkey to lose the game 3-2. Sweden thought that they had made the most difficult thing by scoring two goals in the 34th and 49th minute of the game in order to lead 2-0. But they will concede the first goal in the 51st minute before conceding two quick goals from Akbaba in the 88th and 92nd minute of the game.

Sweden started the match the better and was the most comfortable team in the first half creating numerous occasions. They will open the scoring in the 34th minute thanks to Isaac Kiese Thelin after some brilliant work from his teammates. This will be the only goal in the first half and the teams will reach the break with the score 1-0 for the Swedes.

SWEDEN COACH TALKS GERMANY PROVOCATIVE CELEBRATIONS

Sweden coach JanneAndersson has opened up on the provocative celebrations of the Germans following their loss in the second group game. Sweden needed a win or a draw to favour their objective of going through to the next stage. They scored the first goal but wasted opportunities of getting another. The Germans responded in the second half and went on to win in practically the last kick of the game.

The German team celebrated the relief wildly and it angered the Swedes. Andersson has called the behavior of the German officials “scornful”, claiming “it had nothing to do with football.”
FIFA disciplinary committee has begun proceedings against Germany media co-coordinator Ulrich Voigt and the head of the backroom staff Georg Behlau for their conduct after the final whistle. The German FA (DFB) have suspended the duo for the final group fixture against South Korea on Wednesday for taunting the Swedes.

The Sweden national side is surviving without ZlatanIbrahimovic

On June of 2016, a huge question began to rise as ZlatanIbrahimovic decided to hang up his playing boots from the international stage.


Taking into consideration just how important and influential that the former Ac.Milan player has had for Sweden since he made his debut at the age of 19, it was expected that Sweden would struggle in the absence of Ibrahimovic but it has surprisingly not been like that.

The last time that the Swedish national side has qualified for a FIFA World Cup was back on 2006 when they reached the round of 16 and they are currently attempting to secure their ticket into the upcoming 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup and are doing impressively well.

Sweden is competing in group A of the UEFA section along with: France, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Luxembourg and Belarus.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is definitely not having the greatest time of his life at the moment.


It’s not long back when he found out that Manchester United was not going to stretch his contract any further and that would definitely have pinched him a little bit because he had shown his spark in patches at United and would have hoped for a retention for sure, but, more than being dumped by a foreign club, what would hurt him even more is to know that his own country people are not too keen to watch him on the pitch either.

Recently the rumours had surfaced that Zlatan was considering an international comeback and the striker himself added fuel to those rumours by putting a video on social media in which he could be seen in a pair of shoes that had the national flag displayed on it. Continue reading
